Artist Statement

My work emerges from the encounter between the visual language of the Baroque and
contemporary technology. Inspired by the dramatic use of light and the narrative tension of
Caravaggio and Artemisia Gentileschi, I create theatrical and symbolic images that
reinterpret historical and mythological subjects through a personal vision.
In my practice, technology does not replace tradition but becomes a medium through which
it is reactivated. The image takes shape within an intermediate space where past and
present overlap without hierarchy. Light becomes a tool of revelation, the body a site of
symbolic tension. I then intervene directly on each work, refining details and introducing gold
leaf so that this elegant stratification can restore to classical iconography a renewed visual
urgency—capable of speaking to contemporary sensibility without losing its original density.

Artist Biography

Sabrina Candelori, known professionally as Sabrina Petronia Aurea, is an Italian artist based
in Rome. Professionally active as a tour guide in one of the most historically layered cities in
European art history, she has developed her artistic practice independently, cultivating from
an early age a deep interest in art and classical beauty.
Her practice emerges from the intersection of classical visual culture and technological
experimentation, integrating the use of artificial intelligence with direct manual intervention
and the application of gold leaf. This marks her first official exhibition experience. Her work is
shaped by an intense personal journey, in which art becomes a means of reflection and
dialogue, transforming inner experiences into images charged with symbolic tension.
